about

Beya is a composer, singer, and writer with a multitude of inspiration. She is moved by sounds of jazz, soul, and hip-hop in the NYC style. As a child, she was influenced by her brother who was himself a musician. The effect of her sibling led her to begin composing and singing her own material. Beya performing with several bands in Lyon. They ventured into sounds of Afro-jazz, soul, and funk. Beya moved to San Francisco to improve upon her jazz singing and to further develop her own singing niche to full capacity. Inspired by various DJs and jazz musicians in the Bay, Beya began to mix a plethora of genre while also learning improvisation. Upon returning to France, Beya began work with Natty, an Afro-Caribbean, jazzy funk band based in Lyon. She appeared on Frootloop Volume One, an LP by Hot Wire Records (Hip Hop, Nu Jazz). In Germany, Beya sings on Tonton David's album "Livret de Famille" with Bansa Music. A gifted singer and performer, Beya sings solo and graces Parisian stages with her own original recordings. She is musically supported by DJ Max, world renown hip hop producer, Soul (Ntm, Nuttea, Tonton David, China Moses, and others. The collaboration is mutually inspiring and the unique style will be released as "Made-In", the new Beya album. Ty Macklin, Xsquare Music composer and producer of Erykah Badu, Sy Smith and India Arie also participated in this album. He composed two track: Made In and Comme je suis, giving the album a touch of Dallas Soul. Beya sings in three languages : French, English and Arabic illustrating her ecclectic influences and mingling them to form a universal language supported by music, which allows to break all the boundaries.
